And yet another one that (in my mind) purposely excludes DDY songs. I saw this on the m'rock.com site by a poster over there and find it pretty telling....I would think the band would have to select or at a minimum approve the songs? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STYX- "ICON " track listing CD1- 1. Renegade 2. Come Sail Away 3. Mr Roboto 4. Babe 5. Fooling Yourself 6. Lorelei 7. Blue Collar Man 8. Too Much Time On My Hands 9. Lady 10. Snowblind 11. Mademoiselle 12. Show Me The Way CD2- 1. Light Up 2. Crystal Ball 3. Miss America 4. Boat On The River 5. Borrowed Time 6. Suite Madame Blue 7. The Grand Illusion 8. Love Is The Ritual 9. The Best Of Times 10. Man In The Wilderness 11. Shooz 12. Lights This just gets to be funny. Another compilation that intentionally excludes DDY songs... Where is... Don't Let It End (#6 Pop, 1983) Rockin The Paradise (#8 Rock, 1981) Love At First Sight (#25 Pop, #13 AC, 1991) Why ME (#24 Pop, 1980) Instead we have Snowblind on the "hits" CD (CD1)? Mademoiselle on the "hits" CD (CD1)? Love Is the Ritual (how did that make it?) Shooz?!?!?! Man In The Wilderness? Its fine if you want to have these songs on a compilation CD, but only after you fit the other songs on before. Clearly, we have the influence of JY/TS as the songs that are left out are DDY songs and the questionable songs that are added are TS/JY songs...notice a pattern here?

It hasn't been updated in over a year?!?!?!?!

XM 25 "The Blend" appears to have picked up Dennis DeYoung's "I Believe In You" and added it to their playlist! It is evidently being played somewhat regularly. Now, it is our part to go and request it and make it a bigger hit so that other radio stations may pick it up too. E-mail theblend@siriusxm.com and tell them how much you are enjoying this song and ask them to play it more!!

When can Dennis get Show Me The Way back into the setlist? Want the rock version vs. the acapella version. Anyone know how I can request this? Hard to imagine a song that went to #3 on the charts not being a part of this - even in the rock shows. Just don't do it acapella. Does Dennis not like Show Me The Way anymore? Is he sick of it?
-
Love the new changes, but HATE that SHOW ME THE WAY is now out of the set list! How can Light Up stay and Show Me The Way be removed? Did you know that Show Me The Way was the LONGEST charting Styx song ever? It was on the top 100 for 23 weeks and on the Adult Contemporary charts for an amazing 31 weeks. On both charts it peaked at #3. I am very disappointed that it has been removed and hope that Dennis puts it back in - the full version (not the acapella version). Anyway to request him to put it back in?

The second side of Kilroy is actually the stronger side IMHO. Dennis did a great job on that second side. Must hear songs for me of Dennis would be All the top 10 singles - Show Me The Way - Desert Moon - Don't let It End - Mr. Roboto - Best of Times - Babe - Come Sail Away - Lady Album Cuts/lower charted singles - Grand Illusion - Rockin The Paradise - Pieces of Eight - Lorelei Wishes - Nothing Ever Goes As Planned - Don't Wait For Heroes - Harry's Hands - Black Wall - On The Street Where You Live - Borrowed Time - Why Me? - Music Time (how about that one?!?!)
-
Sounds like an awesome show! Wonder why Show Me The Way and Don't Let It End weren't part of it? I would have been disappointed at the drop of SMTW. That seems to be left on the sideline more and more!

What were you doing on 7/7/77 when GI was released?
TimH replied to mtlfan's topic in Current Events
The late 70s Tommy Shaw was very feminine looking - Cornerstone...Grand Illusion...and how about the Dutch Boy do for Paradise Theatre... -
I agree it is an awesome song and should have been an awesome single. Except that the record company absolutely sucks and put ZERO promotion behind it. Did they even send it to radio stations? It was never listed in Radio and Records as going for adds. Did Dennis even play it on his one TV appearance (Bonnie Hunt show)? No. It can't be called a single because it was never treated as such. Such a complete waste - why did Rounder even bother releasing this? It hasn't sold didly because it has gotten absolutely ZERO promotion. It is a total shame. ROUNDER SUCKS

A new album out...and it is just generating so much talk value here! There has not been a new post on this board in a week.... If DDY fans aren't talking about it, can't see how we can expect anyone else to talk about it... I didn't think an album could get less buzz than 10 on Broadway or Boomchild, but 100 Years the US release has them both beat. A shame too, because it was a great album. Dead in the water now. :-O
-
The promotion for 100 Years is horrible. Period. I blame Rounder, but I also blame Dennis's management as well. Maybe update your website? The Opie and Anthony appearance from April 27th is still the headline. What was that - 2 weeks ago? When was the last time the Crib was updated? Supposedly THis TIme Next Year is the first single, but has that even been sent to any radio stations? The last post on this site was May 9th. Here there is Dennis's first rock album out in the US in 20 years and the buzz is absolutely zero. At this rate, the album won't even sell 5,000 copies. Tees me off....

And in the ATL.. http://www.cobbenergycentre.com/calendar.a...ate=2009-Oct-01

What type of station does he work for? I wonder if they are going for AC adds or Rock adds? Talk about being under the radio. Heck, what type of station should we call to even request it?
-
No he doesn't - he just performs Lady, CSA, and Babe at the end. Someone needs to tell Dennis that if you have a new album to promote, get a live TV gig, to play something off the new album!!!
