pinkfloyd1973
This may spark some debate, but it's worth asking anyway... Ron <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK i'll be the first LOL. I can't really choose just one because I like 4 of the 6. Pike was the first, correct? I don't remember him except for one episode at the beginning of the series. I do like Kirk because William Shatner was pretty good looking back then. But then again I do also like Picard (my M-I-L likes bald men) and Janeway from Voyager, but I really didn't get much into DS9 Robin "Desert Moon"
Ron
I figured I'd better include Pike just to make the list complete. If I had left him off, I'm sure some Trekkie would have complained (like the "4th Grade" episode of South Park where they argue over the episode count). As much as I like some of the other Captains (Archer, Janeway), if it wasn't for Kirk...... Besides, he had something to do with the "Kirk" in "Ron Kirk Stevens" Ron

And it could have been worse, you could have been Ron TIBERIUS Stevens Robin "Desert Moon"
teesa_66
This may spark some debate, but it's worth asking anyway... Ron <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, this is a debate (to put nicely) my hubby & I have rather frequently. While I love nearly all the ST genres, my favorite is The Next Generation. As for the better captain, well that's a very close race between Kirk & Picard. Now, not to be picky, but if you include the New Frontier series (only available in print ), then my hands-down all-time favorite captain is Mackenzie Calhoun. Guess that makes me an official Trekker. Terri
Rubulator2k
How did I miss this thread... as a trekkie... Kirk... If it wasn't for him I doubt any of the others, excluding Pike, would have ever been heard of... If I had to rank them as best Captain(Admiral)... IMO Kirk Picard Sisco Janeway Archer Pike (last cause he blew a great gig)
Jasedontlie
I'm a Kirk fan first, then Picard. I will say - I really enjoyed the latest movie, and how the actor (can't remember his name) portrayed Kirk too.

pinkfloyd1973
I still havent caught that new one yet... I'll have to check the on demand catalog... Chris Pine played Kirk, I loved the movie and it was different from the original series. BTW I changed my choice to Jonathan Archer because Scott Bakula is hot looking Robin Edited December 24, 2010 by pinkfloyd1973
Ron
First of all, I have to say that I really am enjoying when someone new joins the site, and then trolls around reading and commenting on threads that are several years old. I thought Chris Pine did an excellent job as James T Kirk. I also recently saw Unstoppable which featured him. If you haven't seen the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie you should check it out, even if you're not really a fan of the original series. My wife never liked Trek and she enjoyed the movie.
