  1. People! He does NOT have a toupee! Look at the outside pictures that someone posted on this site from Busch Gardens...he has just stopped dying his hair and he's letting it grey naturally. I think his hair is just course, Italian genes perhaps. If you've seen him up close in concert, you can for sure tell it's real. It looks the same all over his head. Good grief, poor guy! I don't post hardly ever, but I am a big fan and I really couldn't let this thread continue without putting in my two cents! LOL
  2. I have actually been to one of his new shows...and it was fantastic. Personally, I think he changed it up because he wanted to do something different. I read an interview after the Ridgefield show where he basically said just that. He seems to enjoy changing his format every few years (orchestra, Lost Treasures, acoustic sets, etc). The videos from the Orleans do not do justice to the energy that you see on stage! The crowd was excited, the band was exciting, and Dennis was having a good time! He is still the star of the show, and the TS songs are an integral piece of the band that he created. I applaud him for adding them to his set! I've read reviews from other shows as well that talk about the added energy, and the crowd response! The audience at the show I attended was wildly accepting of the new line-up. For me, this was a true Styx show...the Dennis songs are sung the way they are supposed to be, and we get to hear the TS stuff, too! Here is an excerpt from the interview I read: In an interview following the Ridgefield show, DeYoung talked about how excited he was to showcase his current band and his most beloved song creations to new and loyal fan bases. "The only reason to keep doing this is to have the chance to create something new, because the nature of touring is regurgitation and repetition, and I get bored pretty fast," DeYoung said. "So when my son [Matthew] called me up and said, 'Dad, I heard this guy August Zadra' — and he sent me some videos of August performing 'Renegade' and 'Too Much Time on my Hands,' I thought, yikes — let's do this!" DeYoung said trotting out the new band fulfills the wishes of most of his longtime fans who come out to relive the memories, and in some small way for just a couple of hours, recapture the innocence of their younger days. "And it all happened by accident because my son found this incredible [performer], August," DeYoung said. "You know, I wouldn't have done this tour without him. But after playing five shows, I have come to realize this is what Styx fans have been craving. And at 63, it does an old man's heart good that I can still experience this." http://newtownbee.com/Features/2010-03-12_...To+Classic+Acts
