Ron
"New" Guitarist/singer August Zadra talks about how he got his job with Dennis: http://www.mi.edu/success/august-zadra-tou...ormerly-of-styx August Zadra (Guitar ’89) is touring across the US and Canada as guitarist and singer with Dennis DeYoung, a founding member of STYX. The audition came about after DeYoung’s son discovered Zadra performing on YouTube with a STYX tribute band. Describing the audition itself, August added some relevant advice for aspiring pro guitar players. “One big point that I would like to make is that the only reason I got this gig is because I can sing. I think this addresses a critical point for the guitar community – we all need to be the best overall musicians we can be, rather than “just” the best guitarist/instrumentalist we can be. I never considered myself a guitar-playing singer- rather, I was always a guitarist who also sang. The day I met Dennis, he must have said a half-dozen times that this gig is ‘all about the vocals.’”
