Album notes:

On the front cover, the album title is spelled Paradise Theatre, and on the back cover spelled Paradise Theater. The A&M catalog spells the title with -er. Both spellings are considered accurate in the English language, with theatre the accepted term when used in a proper name of a performing arts facility or company. However, many Americans consider theater the proper spelling when referring to a venue (i.e. a movie theater). It is unknown which spelling Styx perferrs as the "official" spelling of the album title. Although the exact reason for the two spellings is not known here, it can be assumed—in keeping with the concept and theme of the album—that "Paradise Theatre" used in the 1928 "Gala Premire" indicates a proud, grand venue; while the 1958 "Closed" back cover indicates just another old building waiting for demolition.
There is a picture of the actual façade of the REAL Paradise Theatre in the DDY Talk Image Gallery.
